Hudgins-Groover -
A Partnership for 29 Years
HUDGINS-GROOVER is a real estate appraisal and real estate brokerage firm. The principals are Richard T. (Dick) Hudgins and Mike Groover. Hudgins-Groover began as a real estate agency in 1979 which brokered commercial properties, farms, ranches, and residential properties.
Shortly thereafter, Hudgins-Groover began investing in development projects which included residential subdivisions, townhouses, apartments, and commercial sites.
An investment group, HUDGRO, INC., was also organized by the principals to buy properties at Trustee's Sales in Wharton, Harris, Fort Bend, and Matagorda Counties.
The partnership, as Hudgins-Groover Appraisal, began performing real estate appraisals in the early 1980's as a result of client confidence in their experience as real estate professionals. They have since advanced their real estate appraisal expertise with professional training and education with Hudgins obtaining the MAI appraisal designation and Groover obtaining the IFAS appraisal designation.
During the Spring of 1998, Hudgins-Groover Real Estate was established to expand their real estate services to again include the brokerage of residential, farm & ranch, and commercial properties. Linda Baca, an experienced licensed real estate agent who has a reputation as a top producer, joined Hudgins-Groover in May 1998. The Houston Association of Realtors recognized Linda as the "Number Five" realtor in the entire Houston Area during the 3rd Quarter of 2007. During 2007, Hudgins-Groover Real Estate has closed over $9,000,000 worth of property!
In December 2002, Hudgins-Groover welcomed Greg Lapham as a staff appraiser. Greg has since become a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and a licensed Real Estate Broker in Texas.
In November 2007, Tracy Braden joined Hudgins-Groover as a staff appraiser. Tracy is a State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser.

State Certification
Hudgins holds the MAI appraisal designation through the Appraisal Institute and is a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. He is also a licensed Real Estate Broker with the State of Texas. Hudgins has testified as an expert witness for property valuation at Appraisal District Review Board Hearings, Right Of Way Condemnation Hearings, in County Court, District Court, Federal Bankruptcy Court, and in IRS tax appeals. Although experienced in the appraisal of many different types of commercial real estate; Hudgins is recognized for his expertise in the appraisal of undivided interests in taxable estates in forming a value basis for property gifts, family limited partnerships, and estate taxes.

Groover holds the Senior Appraiser (IFAS) designation through the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers organization and is a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker with the State of Texas. Groover's primary field of expertise is in the appraisal of residential properties and the brokerage of real estate.
